THE AWARD

Siemens will offer a 2 sponsorship to 2 teams in the Industrial Automation category in terms of problem selection and solution provided.
The best of these teams will be granted an internship.

Prize 1: internship & sponsorship

This special award is presented by Siemens to:

  • Students doing their graduation projects related to Industrial Automation.
  • Students doing a course work project related to Industrial Automation.
  • Students from the hackathon generating a problem and a solution related Industrial Automation.
  • Internship will be for all team members (max of 5 students) . The sponsorship will be technical knowledge & components to build their project.

    Prize 2: sponsorship

    This special award is presented by Siemens to:

  • Students doing their graduation projects related to Industrial Automation.
  • Students doing a course work project related to Industrial Automation.
  • Students from the hackathon generating a problem and a solution related Industrial Automation.
  • The sponsorship will be technical knowledge & components to build their project.

    The criteria for submiting the project to the jury is as follows:

  • The project (or problem description) is related to industrial application. The solution will make use of industrial components (example: PLC, HMI, Electric Drives, etc..)
  • The project is feasible and will be able to be implemented with the current resources in the Egyptian market. Please note that winning teams are obliged to build/implement their project
  • Provide a solid background research about the problem to be solved and its impact & frequency of occurrence in the industry.
  • The final presentation should cover all aspects of the solution implementation including but not limited:
    • System diagram or Piping & Instrumentation Diagram (P&ID) for the solution
    • Input & Output count for the solution
    • Components required to implement the project are included and well presented (mechanical and electrical)
    • Time diagram for project implementation
    • The Team members has the technical capabilities to implement the project
    • In case the project will be implemented in a real factory; then the team is responsible for making sure the factory management is aligned that Siemens products will be used in the implementation and proof of that to be presented.
