Local Minesweepers'19 Competition

AUC Robotics hosted the finals of the Minesweepers National Competition in 2019. The club teams managed to achieve the 4th and the 5th places in the competition in addition to receiving two special prizes which are the 2019 Best Academia Presentation Award and the 2019 Best Academia Deminer Award. One of the AUC Robotics representative teams was also qualified to participate in the international competition that took place in China in October 2019.

FYP Fall'19

The First Year Program (FYP) organizes at the beginning of each semester an Engagement fair for the freshman students of AUC to help them engage with the several clubs and student activities. AUC Robotics showed a splendid presence in the Engagement fair of the Fall 2019 through giving the new comers the opportunity of watching the ROV robot and providing them with robotics-related giveaways.

Pool Opening'19 General Meeting

The opening general meeting is one of the events organized in the beginning of each semester to introduce the high board of AUC Robotics, and to give a glimpse of the achievements of the club in the past years, and certainly to welcome the new members in the family of AUC Robotics. The meeting of the fall semester was hold near the pool where it involved several activities to entertain the members.

Robotics 101 Program

The Line Follower robot 101 Program aimed to teach the participants the necessary introductory robotics concepts like Arduino programming, robot connections (sensors and motors), and then apply what they learned to construct a line follower robot from scratch. By the end of the program, the participants competed with their robots against each other in a race, and the winning team got honored by the club president.

Google Outreach

Google has used to reach out to students from specific universities in Egypt, where representatives come talk to the students about the application requirements and entire process, the interview procedures and tips, and the whole working environment and style of the company. They requested our collaboration as AUC robotics in organizing and managing that reach out event at AUC. On that account, in this event two representatives from Google were speaking about the above mentioned details besides holding mock interviews for a few number of the students with the help and organization of our team.

Regional Sumo Robots'19 Competition

SUMO-Robot is one of the oldest robotics competitions in Egypt and worldwide. Students design, build, and program their small-sized robots to fight each other on a circular field with the goal of throwing the other robot out of the field. In 2019, it was our pleasure to be the hosting partner of the Egyptian Regional SUMO-Robot competition. The competition was held at our new Cairo campus with the participation of 15 university, 25 schools, and over 300 visitors.

Wadi El-Rayan Retreat

Since “rest is as important as hard work”, AUC Robotics decided to reward the members with a joyful trip to Wadi El Rayan. The day was loaded with lots of activities and fun such as Frisbee game, sandboarding, and marshmallow over a camp fire. The members had also the chance to go on a boat cruise in El-Rayan lake, and to do stargazing at the night.

AUC Robotics Conference'19

AUC Robotics Conference was built to bring together an elite community of researchers and engineers from all around the world to explore the most recent and advanced breakthroughs in the control and automation of robotics. It included a variety of Robotics-related activities that enhanced the attendees’ knowledge of Robotics such as tech talks, panel discussion of experts, many technical workshops and finally the platform which was especially for graduate and undergraduate students to present some of their robotics researches and projects in front of the international audience of #AUCRC19.

RoboCup Course

The Academics committee of AUC Robotics were actively running a supporting course for the students who were participating in RopoCup competition. The course aimed to give the participants all the technical knowledge they need to help them construct their winning robots by the end of the course.
