The first half of the workshop will teach attendees how to manipulate images and extract essential features from an image to generate insights from it, either for observation or machine learning. The Second half will teach the attendees how to predict clothing types from photos using the Fashion MNIST dataset and Neural Networks.

Eng. Ali Hussein is an AI researcher and a software engineer. In 2020, he co-founded Shield Digital, besides being a resident of the Makerere AI lab in Kampala, Uganda, where he focused on low-resource Natural Language Processing (NLP).

Eng. Mazen Mobtassem is an experienced researcher and a certified data analyst who is enthusiastic about machine learning and data science. He embarked on a self-learning journey by learning Machine Learning with Python from Coursera and Advanced Machine Learning from Udacity.
